About Jen Larush
Life can be difficult, especially with so many competing challenges to face. These challenges may be internal, such as coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, emotions, addiction, sleep problems, shame, self-esteem, stress and life transitions. Or these challenges may be interpersonal, with a partner, family members, neighbors, or people we work with. Given my diverse training, I can draw from a range of therapies to work alongside you. I work with clients age 14 and older.
In addition to my professional training, my personal experience as a partner and mom also help me to understand challenges of couples and families. Having worked for federal corrections I also understand what it’s like to work in a first responders field. And being married to a first responder has allowed me to understand the impact and challenges that can arise for the partner and family of a first responder.
Therapies
I love to learn, which means I am committed to ongoing professional development to ensure that I am always providing relevant, evidence-based therapy to my clients. I frequently integrate various therapies, depending on what the client has sought counselling for. Therapies I am trained in include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), FLASH, Gottman Level 1 and 2 Marriage Counselling, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
You can learn more about each therapy by accessing information from the Therapies tab along the top of my personal website chilliwackmountainviewcounselling.com and clicking on the therapy you would like to learn more about.
