Most of the people I see come in after something sudden. A car accident, a bad night's sleep, a day that ended differently than it started. Sometimes, pain can feel strange and confusing, and patients often tell me they don't understand what their body is trying to tell them. I take the time to listen carefully to your concerns and do my best to identify both the primary and side contributors behind your pain. Often, pains can be a signal that indicates what your body needs the most at the moment. I like working with those conditions because the progress is visible. Watching someone come back week after and move a little more freely each time is the part of this work I find most rewarding.

I am a Registered Massage Therapist at The Healing Oak in Chilliwack. I trained at Vancouver Career College, graduating in two and a half years and passing all three board exams on the first attempt, and I have been working in multidisciplinary clinics since. Most of my experience has been with ICBC patients, healthcare workers, people with work related injuries, teenagers, seniors, and clients living with acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain. I also offer prenatal and postpartum massage, hot stone massage, and treatment through clothing for clients who prefer it. 

Having treated many healthcare worker, I've seen how much stress their bodies can carry. As someone who works in healthcare myself, I can relate to their challenges, and I genuinely enjoy helping those who spend their days caring for others.

I am shy when I first meet someone, and I tend to approach casually. What matters to me is that you feel safe on my table, so I keep communication warm and clear, I explain what I am doing, and I check in. My background includes two years as a restaurant server while I was studying, and more of that carried into this work than I expected, particularly the habit of thinking from the other person's side of the conversation.

Outside the clinic I am a musician. I sing and play piano and guitar, and that creative side finds its way into my treatments. I like developing my own variations on techniques I already know and finding new ways into a problem when the standard approach is not getting there.
